Evo Fabuloso Pro treatment at Roots & Branches Salon in KC, MO

Evo Fabuloso Pro treatment at Roots & Branches Salon in KC, MO

Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to be a hair model at Roots & Branches Salon for an Evo educator to demonstrate their Fabuloso Pro conditioning and color treatment. Roots & Branches owner Molly had just returned from New York Fashion Week as part of the Evo team, so I was excited to learn more about Evo and experience this service!

The Fabuloso Pro category consists of color enhancing conditioners for home use and salon-only custom products. In this case, I had a salon treatment where they created a custom, color enhancing conditioning treatment that deposits color that can last up to 12 (if I remember right!) shampoos. Since we know now that we need to go as long as possible between shampoos for the health of our hair and maintaining color, that’s quite a bang for the buck. They can also mix a custom conditioner to take home to maintain the look, which is what I choose to do to maintain. My hair is in fairly good condition for being colored and often heat styled, but I deal with a lot of frizz, and my ends are definitely dry. This won’t touch up roots obviously, but it can brighten up and help maintain vibrance between color appointments, not to mention make hair feel and look better—as you will see.

The salon can create any shade possible including pastels to create a temporary color on lighter colored hair!

To begin, I had my hair shampooed and towel dried. Then they mixed my treatment—they named my color pomegranate.

Then, once they had the color and conditioner mixed, it was time to apply to my towel dried hair. The application is similar to applying hair color with a brush, but rather than working it into the strands, they lightly brush it on. The idea is that working it in would destroy the color molecules in this formulation.

I can’t remember how long I processed, but it wasn’t long. Maybe 20 minutes? Definitely less than if I were having my hair colored. So, then I was rinsed thoroughly, and they used several Evo products for my blow out to combat my frizziness and dry ends, as well as to protect my hair from heat and give some UV protection.

Here’s the Roots & Branches owner, Molly (above) working on my blow out, after applying Evo’s Easy Tiger straightening balm, Liquid Rollers curl balm, and End Doctor smoothing sealant.

So, the results? Hair that is shiny, soft and manageable, with the vibrance of my color enhanced.

Ta-da!!!

And, just to illustrate the point further, here’s the before/after that Roots & Branches posted on Instagram. My ends are so much smoother and less dry.

I’m definitely sold! The fact that it’s gentle yet effective, and I can maintain it at home are all pluses. The other hair model that day was a blonde with very long hair and they gave her a pastel pink ombré look by only applying the treatment from about her chin down. It was amazing, but not a permanent or damaging change! Definitely a fun way to try something new without committing long term, or improve what you already have.

Thank you Roots & Branches for using me as a model! Definitely check them out for Evo products in Kansas City. If you go to their Facebook page, I think they even have a sale on select products going on right now! You can also follow them on Instagram, search “rootsandbrancheskc”.

Thank you David for documenting the process!
