Vintage shoes from Donna’s Dress Shop!

Vintage shoes from Donna’s Dress Shop!
So the other week Donna’s Dress Shop announced they had found a treasure trove of over 600 pairs of vintage shoes in sizes 8.5 and 9. Donna actually somehow remembers that’s what I wear and actually posted on my Facebook wall to let me know. Unfortunately I had a photo shoot that day that I knew would run late so I was pretty sure I was going to miss all the good stuff.
I was wrong.
Basically I am good on vintage peep toe sling backs now. I apologize for the selective focus in the wrong place in some of these photos, that’s what I get for taking photos while I have a headache.

I mean, these are UNWORN. And they’re “Star Makers”, so I have high hopes for where I will go in these shoes.

Chippewa Falls apparently knew how to make some shoes.

This one might be my favorite. I love the combo of mesh and patent. These were $22.00 at Emery Bird & Thayer, which was a downtown Kansas City department store back in the day.
I went fairly basic I guess, but I bought what felt the most comfortable and what I thought I would wear the most. I think the two black pairs are both interesting though, and the snake pair is snake!! Now I am going to take them to my shoe people to have half soles put on, because I want them to last as long as possible! We’ve got a least another month (probably two) of nasty weather in KC, but I’ll be ready for a pedicure so I can show off these pretties the moment the snow and Spring showers have passed.
Donna’s had a ton of styles for every occasion, so if you’re also a size 8.5 or 9 you should definitely get over there and see if there’s anything left! I probably tried on at least 15 pairs of shoes that day, and I didn’t try them all!

  1. Halfsoles! What a great idea. I may have to do that with a few of my pairs. Who do you typically use?

  2. Kelly, I like 2 places, Shoe Express in Fairway, and Renner’s on the Plaza. Renner’s offers a little bit of a discount if you pay in advance (when you drop off), and their service is a little faster, so in my opinion they win for me, personally, but I have had good service both places.
